The impact of climate change is becoming increasingly apparent, with significant changes in weather patterns affecting farmers around the world. At Matroosberg Grapes, we have experienced this firsthand, with decreased winter rainfall posing a threat to our grape growing operations.
To address this challenge, we have taken proactive steps to secure our water resources. We are pleased to announce that we have been granted a license to expand one of our existing dams. This expansion will increase the dam’s capacity from its current 85,000 cubic meters to 200,000 cubic meters, providing us with additional water storage to ensure water security during drier periods.
As responsible stewards of the land, we understand the importance of sustainable water management practices. With this new development, we are taking a significant step towards securing our water resources for years to come.
